| Belmont Parent Education Series
Due to budget constraints this program is now closed.
The Belmont Parent Education Series was sponsored by the Superintendent’s Health Task Force, a group of school administrators, a student representative, municipal employees including police and fire, selectmen, clergy, and youth services. The group met quarterly to talk about issues that affect the social/emotional and physical health of youth and families in Belmont.
The program began in 1998 with a single, four part series for parents at Chenery Middle School to inform parents about the messages taught in the Life Skills Health Education program for sixth grade students. The series has been funded by a Safe and Drug Free Schools grant. Its intent has been to strengthen parenting skills and provide information and support to families as a way to keep Belmont students safe and drug free.
