BELMONT SCHOOL COMMITTEE MINUTES
SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION CONFERENCE ROOM
FEBRUARY 6, 2009

Present:      Mr. John Bowe, chair
Ms. Ann Rittenburg, Secretary
Ms. Elizabeth Gibson
            Ms. Leslie Walker
            Ms. Laurie Graham
Ms. Becky Vose
            Dr. Patricia Aubin, Superintendent of Schools

Also in attendance were Dr. Gerry Missal, Denis Fitzpatrick, and Julia Silverman.

OPENING BUSINESS
     
2.1      Call to Order
     
At 8:08 a.m. Mr. Bowe called the meeting to order in the conference room of
the School Administration Building.
     
      2.2      Superintendent’s Report
           
      None

      2.3      Chairman’s Report

      None     

2.4      Citizens’ Concerns

      None
     

3.      UNFINISHED BUSINESS

      None

4.      MAJOR BUSINESS

      Participants in the recent superintendent site visits presented their findings to the whole School Committee.  School Committee members asked questions of the participants.

      School Committee members discussed the remaining two candidates.  Members of the central administration were asked for their input based on their interviews with the remaining two candidates.

      At 9:05 on a motion by Ms. Walker and seconded by Ms. Vose, the committee
VOTED:  unanimously to enter contract negotiations with George Entwistle.

5.        EXECUTIVE SESSION

      At 9:06 on a motion by Ms. Walker and seconded by Ms. Vose, the committee
VOTED:  unanimously on a roll call vote (6-0) to enter executive session, without returning to Open Session, for the purposes of conducting a strategy session in preparation for contract negotiations with Dr. George Entwistle, final candidate for Superintendent of Schools.. .

 

 

 

     
6.      ADJOURNMENT

      At 10:08  a.m., on a motion offered by Ms. Walker and seconded by Ms. Graham, it was

      VOTED:  unanimously to adjourn the meeting.
