Third
Annual
Chenery
Green
Week
Chenery
spends
around
$162,974
on
electricity
each
year.
With
that
in
mind,
join
the
Student
Council
in
an
exciting
week
of
activities,
discussion,
and
contests
on
becoming
a
greener
school!
Chenery Green Week Schedule
‐
April
9th
to
13th,
2012
‐
-
Participate
in
the
annual
Pedometer
Challenge
from
Monday
to
Friday:
walk
and
earn
prizes!
The
student,
teacher,
and
homeroom
with
the
most
steps
will
receive
a
prize.
Pedometers
are
available
for
purchase
from
the
Upper
School
Student
Council.
Join
the
Challenge!
- On
Monday
(upper)
and
Wednesday
(lower),
recycling
bins
will
be
in
either
end
of
the
hallways:
Recycle!
- Students
will
be
discussing
going
green.
- Tuesday
we’ll
focus
on
using
less
packaging
and
encourage
you
to
bring
reusable
lunch
containers,
among
other
things.
Every
person
counts:
just
use
a
plastic
container
vs.
plastic
bag!
- On
Wednesday,
walk
or
ride
a
bike
to
school!
(Be
sure
to
check
the
student
council
bulletin
board
for
meeting
spots).
Organize
a
group
of
friends
to
walk
or
ride
a
bike
to
school.
- On
Thursday,
April
12th,
many
classroom
lights,
computer
screens
and
SMART
Boards
will
be
turned
off
as
part
of
“Save
Electricity
Day.”
-
On
Friday,
wear
blue
for
Earth
Day!
The
bluest
student
and
staff
member
will
receive
a
reward.
