Rain Forest Riddles
- I am a slow-moving mammal. I spend my life
hanging upside down in the trees. I love to eat cecropia leaves. I am
a good swimmer, too.
I am the
- I am the largest bird of prey in the world.
I hunt over the South American rain forests. Sometimes I am called the
flying jaguar. My body is 3 feet long and my wingspan is 7 feet across!
I am the
- I am a brightly colored bird with a big, curved
beak. I use my beak to collect fruit and berries to eat. I can't fly
very well because my bill is so heavy. I have a feathered tongue.
I am the
- I am a creature with eight legs. I hide during
the day and come out at night to hunt small birds and reptiles. I am
3 ½ inches long and my legs are 10 inches long.

- I am a spotted cat and I do not roar. I live
on the forest floor and in the understory. I can weigh up to 300 pounds.

a red, yellow and blue back and a yellow beak. I have a long red tail.

food in the dark. I like to eat moths, flies, spiders and small grasshoppers.

tongue. I can fly backwards, forwards and hover! I have many colors.
If an eagle or a hawk try to attack me, I will not be afraid to attack

inch long. I eat ants, termites, flies, small beetles and spiders. I
have poison on my skin that rain forest hunters use to hunt.

lots of fruits, leaves, insects, seeds and small animals. I have a white
face with black all over my body. I can live to be 35-45 years old.
If I loose my mother, another mother will bring me back to her. I help
trees to grow all over the rain forest because I eat the fruit on one
side and spit seeds out on the other side.
I am the
- I am animal who lives in the water and the forest
floor. I can grow up to 20 feet long. I have long jaws with many sharp
teeth. I hunt at night and eat mammals, reptiles, birds and fish. I
can stay submerged underwater for well over one hour.
