Dear First Graders, Composers from all five of the European music history periods that we are studying were inspired by the beauty and mystery of the ever-changing world around them. They used their rich imaginations and keen observation skills to paint musical pictures in their minds and to compose music with geographic ideas and titles. Select one of the following works together with your family and/or friends. Listen carefully, think about what the composer is saying to you, and write a short story to answer the question. Have fun using your own rich imaginations! Please bring your story to school and we will share it with our class! Love, Ms. LaRoche Here are some composers and works to choose from. Do you or your families know of others? Write them down and we'll share your ideas together in class. Have fun!
