Chuck Pfister, foreground, dots and dashes a conversation on carrier-wave radio with another ham radio operator somewhere across the country while, Phil Temples decodes and records an incoming message.  They were just two of many people from Bloomington area taking part in Field Day Saturday and Sunday- a 24-hour, nation wide event which allows the open testing of short-wave radio equipment under emergency conditions.  The Indiana University Amateur Radio Club, of which Pfister and Temples are members, picked the highest place in the are they could find – the press box on top of the IU Stadium.
