Read For 2003:  Sharing Language Literacy
Facilitators:  Grade One Teachers

Our first grade classes participated in the Scholastic Read For 2003 event on December 6, 2002.  We  gathered in the library as a grade level in our cooperative groups and read for 2003 seconds (33 1/3 minutes!).  Our participation enhanced the literacy skills of our young, enthusiastic readers and helped to promote literacy opportunities for children throughout the country.   For every 100 books read or listened to, Scholastic Books  donated 100 books to children in need.
