The Butler School is Building a New Community Playground!
We are delighted to share that we have raised $110,000 for the new Butler playground!
Many thanks to all who have supported our efforts, including leading support from: The Daniel Butler PTA, the Butler Extended Day Program, Belmont Savings Bank Foundation, Cambridge Savings Bank, Watertown Savings Bank, and an anonymous donor.
Many local businesses have also provided support including: Baker’s Bloom, Belmont Orthodontics, Belmont Smiles, Big Picture Framing, Brasco and Sons, Champions Soccer School, Conley's Pub & Grille, French Construction, and Wagon Wheel Nursery. Countless individual donations have also been received, not only from our local community, but from family and friends as far away as California and Texas. We continue to submit requests for grants and corporate sponsorships.
The Playground Committee has reviewed proposals from the state bid list, interviewed vendors, conducted site visits, completed reference calls, chosen the installer, finalized the design and estimate, and secured the requisite funds. As soon as we have information regarding the “community build” dates we will send them along. We continue to shoot for an installation prior to the end of the school year. If that is not possible, we remain confident that we will have a playground, swings, and surfacing installed over the summer in time for the opening of school in September 2012!
