But first, a few announcements. . .
Volunteers Needed for the Geography Challenge: This year, because of snow days, we have two other school events rescheduled close to the Geography Challenge, and less-than-usual volunteer support. We would love more help to ensure the event runs smoothly. If you plan to attend, please consider volunteering 15-45 minutes – you can volunteer AND watch your child! You can view available slots at Volunteer at Geography Challenge. Please note that the 2nd grade Geography Challenge teams will start at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 22nd, and NOT at 9:00 am.
Staff Appreciation on Wednesday: Thank you to all who have stepped up to host or bring food! We are almost there! We just need 2 volunteers for clean-up between 2:30-3 p.m. If you can make this time, please sign up at Staff Appreciation Sign-Up.
Want to collect an award for us? The Burbank PTA is being recognized for an increase in membership this year at the Annual Massachusetts PTA Convention on April 7th. Check out the workshops and event schedule at Mass PTA Convention. We'll sponsor registration for any two Burbank PTA members who would like to attend. To sign up, email Katherine or Seetha.

Food! Music! Art! Performances!
Let's showcase the colorful mosaic of cultures, interests, backgrounds and experiences that make up the Burbank community! Register by Sunday, March 25th at midnight, to perform or set up an exhibit about a country or culture you love. This is a unique opportunity for our children (and adults) to share about, and learn from, each other! The fair will be held on:
Thursday, April 5th from 6:30-8:30pm
in the Burbank Cafeteria and Gym
Featuring Special Performances:
Avalon Ballroom Dance
9th Grade Jazz Group from our own Belmont HS
Master of Ceremonies:
Burbank teachers Jenn Ellis and Meghan Gallagher
Ways to participate:
- Set up an exhibit. This can include arts and crafts, maps, flags, pictures, games, souvenirs, currency, national clothes or food. It’s up to you!
- Perform for 3-5 minutes on stage. This can be a dance, music, acrobatics, a demonstration, or any special presentation from the specific ancestry, culture, or country you are presenting.
Don't forget to wear your culture/country’s traditional clothing!
Registration is limited for exhibits and performances, so sign up today! If you have any questions about ideas, email Seetha Burtner (firstname.lastname@example.org), Patricia Wolff (email@example.com), or Narine Van Hal (firstname.lastname@example.org).
