But first, a few notes...
Thank you to Kim Foster, Harriet Wong, and the Gardens Committee for the harvest giveaways on the blacktop. Each week's offering involves many hours of work: sorting and grouping the harvest, drying and packaging seeds, writing up instructions on seed planting, and packaging each offering attractively, not to mention the time setting up and manning the harvest table. Your generosity is much appreciated!
Help rolling drop-off on Gale Rd. be safe and efficient (use map below for reference):
- Drop off on school side of Gale against school fence only, not across the street
- Keep moving your car forward as traffic allows until you reach the teacher helper – do not stop or park your car partway along the drop-off zone
- Students should disembark by the teacher-helper at the top of the school ramp – drivers should not get out of their cars and should drive away from the drop-off area as soon as they can safely do so
Give to Burbank's Annual Appeal Drive
Thanks to all who have already given, we are nearing our goal of $25K and we're only halfway through the drive! This year's PTA activities and events are funded by this annual appeal drive and directly benefit your child's education and school life at Burbank this year! Once the goal is met, we know we can proceed with ALL of the planned activities for the year.
While it is exciting to be so close to our monetary goal, there is still ground to cover to meet our participation goal of 100%! Give what you can – any amount helps to build our community and strengthen our school!
Help us reach 100% participtation...
Online payment option include credit card (fee of 3.5% + $0.45) or e-check ($0.45 fee). You can also donate by check, made payable to "Burbank PTA" and submitted to your child's teacher.
The Open Circle Curriculum at Burbank
Presentation at the next PTA Meeting
November 13, 9:00-10:00 a.m.
Please note, this is a morning meeting
Join us at the next PTA meeting to learn about the SEL curriculum used at Burbank: the excellent Open Circle Curriculum. The meeting will be held in the Burbank cafeteria on November 13, right after morning drop-off. In addition to our regular PTA business, Burbank Principal Tricia Clifford, Burbank school psychologist Jeff Forti, and Burbank Guidance Councelor Kristin Romig will lead a presentation on SEL at Burbank. Get your questions answered and leave with tips on how you can support and extend your child's social and emotional growth across school, at home, and in the community.
Burbank Library Night
Thursday, November 16th
6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Burbank students and their families are invited to Burbank LIBRARY NIGHT! This beloved annual Burbank event will take place in our school library next week on Thursday, November 16th.
Library Night is a chance for Burbank kids, families and teachers to celebrate our library. Kids are invited to come in pajamas or in costume. We will have milk, cookies, and sparkling water, a bookmark craft table, and, most importantly, celebrity readers reading favorite stories!
Volunteers – parents and middle/high schoolers – needed! Volunteer duties include set up, managing the food or crafts table, or cleanup. Please contact Steph Burt (email@example.com) or Katherine Poulin-Kerstien (firstname.lastname@example.org) to volunteer!

Volunteer Your Time and Skills for Burbank PTA Initiatives
If you can commit to take on a leadership role this year, the following committees are in urgent need of motivated people.
We are still looking for one co-chair to help promote walking/biking to school. The co-chairs will organize Walk to School Days (February & May); organize “walking school buses”; and promote pedestrian and bike safety. The fall walking programs are already underway, so new volunteers will work with current co-chairs to get walking/biking programs in place for spring.
We need at least one more co-chair to help maintain the beautiful Garden Classroom. This position involves managing the maintenance and development of the garden, as well as coordinating volunteer efforts in the garden, and collaborating with the Landscape, Veggie Garden, and Garden Curriculum co-chairs.
Two co-chairs needed to re-establish the Burbank Green Team. These volunteers will work with the Green Team volunteers from the other Belmont schools and the community to promote environmentally-friendly initiatives.
If any of these roles interests you, please email Katherine or Seetha. The PTA is a completely volunteer run organization, and the positive impact felt by students, teachers, and our community is immeasurable. Thank you for giving of your time and talents!
