HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Make a donation to the Annual Appeal
The good works of the Burbank PTA are funded primarily through cash donations made by parents. Burbank is a small community. We do not charge admission to events or hold numerous fund-raisers. Instead, we ask for a one-time tax-deductible donation to the Capital Appeal. We suggest $125 per family, but of course welcome any amount, large or small.
The PTA is committed to enriching your child’s academic and social experience, but we need your support to make that happen. If your company matches gifts, this is an easy way to magnify your generosity. Our Treasurer, Jill Callanan, will provide you with any necessary documentation.
Make your donation online by clicking the Donate button below. You may also send in a check made out to “Burbank PTA” via your child’s teacher.

Volunteer! Join a committee or help at a PTA sponsored event
The Burbank Parent Teacher Association has two goals in mind when we plan events and activities. The first is to enrich the lives of Burbank students. The second goal is to help all families feel welcome, to feel connected to the school and to each other. Volunteering at school events helps parents build ties to other families and builds strong communities, while at the same time reinforcing the message to their children that school is valuable and important.
Throughout the school year, there are many ways for parents to volunteer at PTA-sponsored events, and volunteer opportunities are available for all levels of time commitment; during the school day or on evenings or weekends; and whether you want to take charge of organizing or just be handed a job to do.
Fill out our Volunteer Interest Survey to let us know how you want to help!
Attend a PTA Meeting!
PTA meetings are held bi-monthly in September, November, January, March and May, on a Monday evening. Each meeting has a guest speaker or specific topic of discussion. This is a great opportunity to learn what is going on around school, get acquainted with other parents, and learn how you might like to become more involved. Please join us!
If you can’t attend a meeting, feel free to e-mail or call the PTA Co-Presidents with your thoughts or questions.
Support the Burbank Book Fair!
An annual tradition, the Book Fair takes place in early December. With a fabulous selection of new books, a magic show, crafts, and a bake sale, The Book Fair is a great event that both parents and kids really enjoy. Bring your holiday shopping list and buy some books for your loved ones. Books can also be donated to teachers’ classrooms through the teacher wish lists, and to the school library. A portion of the total book sales benefits the Burbank PTA, which uses the money to support our programs. The Book Fair is an event not to be missed! Come help us make it a success!
Buy Burbank Spirit Wear!
With a fresh new logo and range of products, Burbank Spirit Wear is a fabulous way to show your school spirit! Burbank attire also makes a nice holiday or year-end gift for your child. Every purchase helps support programs sponsored by the PTA. More information and order forms will be sent to all families.
Save Box Tops for Education!
Earn cash for Burbank just by buying groceries. Clip and save “Box Tops For Education” and send them to school with your child. They add up quickly and the money earned helps support the PTA. Check out the entire program at www.boxtopsforeducation.com.
Participate in Special Events!
The PTA will host a special shopping event at Wilson’s Farm in Lexington with proceeds from your purchases going directly to the Burbank PTA. Stay tuned for more information in the PTA newsletter as the date approaches.
