We Strive for Love of Learning, Respect and Well Being
Dear Burbank Families,
It was a beautiful day in the Burbank neighbor today. I hope, after the bitterly cold weather at the start of the week, that you all had an opportunity to get out and enjoy it. Your children certainly did, and it was the perfect end to our week.
Speaking of neighborhoods, did you hear about the hospital nursery in Pittsburgh this week?
To celebrate World Kindness Day a nurse hand crocheted sweater's, ties, and sneakers in honor of Public Television legend Mr. Rogers. Six newborns helped to honor one of my personal heroes. The act reminded me how vital it is to remind ourselves and our children of the power of kindness and community. It is something we try very hard to teach here at Burbank everyday. And the kind acts we see from your children prove its working.
I will leave you with Mr. Roger's own words on the topic of neighbors:
Well, it's very important to look inside yourself and find that loving part of you because that's the part of you that allows you to love your neighbor. And your neighbor is anyone you happen to be with at any time of your life.
Have a wonderful weekend neighbor,
- Fred Rogers
