| I drove to Fairbanks from NYC in 1979 with my friend...it sure was a long drive! Whew!We travelled via Niagara Falls and then across lower Canada on the Trans-Canada Highway and then up the Alaska Highway through the Yukon (it still was light at 10PM in Dawson City in September)...a lot of rain in Fairbanks...couldn't see MtMcKinley because of the fog...came back to NYC via same car by the Inside Passage and then across Interstate 90...It took 5 weeks...One word to describe Alaska?...M-U-D...my car was covered with it from travelling on the unpaved road...I would have driven to Nome, but you can't get there by automobile...so it was nice to view your trip and I wish you and all the viewers of your site a healthy and happy life...And, have a pleasant day. |
