Principal's Corner

Tom Brow

Interim Principal Tom Brow was a classroom teacher for seventeen years, a high school social studies department head for five years, and a principal for sixteen years in another school district. For the past five years he has served Belmont Public Schools in four capacities. First, he served as assistant principal at the Chenery Middle School. Then he was an instructional coach at the Chenery Middle School and Winn Brook School; he also evaluated teachers at the Wellington School. Last year, he served as the part-time assistant principal at Belmont High School.

Over the course of his career, Tom has received numerous awards and distinctions, such as Massachusetts Department of Education “Teacher of the Year” Runner Up Award, the “Middlesex District Attorney’s “Citizenship in Action Award,” and various "Certificates of Congressional Recognition;" and he has made a significant contribution to the field of education. Principal Brow led a $50 million new school building project, as well as other school initiatives. He is delighted to serve the students, teachers, parents, and stakeholders of the Belmont High School!

Description:

Report to WENNER Field House (high school gym) by class at the following times:

  • Seniors – 9:00 a.m. 
  • Juniors – 9:45 a.m.
  • Sophomores – 10:30 a.m.

During Orientation, necessary contact information will be collected, equipment will fitted and distributed, paperwork will be collected, lockers assigned, and orientation for camp will take place. It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that all Marauder Football players are in attendance at orientation. However, if you are unable to make Orientation, please email the staff at belmontmarauderfootball@gmail.com at least a week prior to August 17th so that we can make sure to bag your equipment for you and reserve a locker.

Parking pass - Applications for parking pass may be picked up in the main office. Students may only park in the designated student parking area marked by the white lines. Students may not park in the teacher lot marked by the yellow lines. Students parking in the teacher lot will be subject to consequences. Senior Parent Information Night - will be held on Thursday 9/20/18 at 6:30 in the BHS Auditorium. This event is put on by the Guidance Department for parents of seniors only- your student does not need to attend as the counselors will be meeting with twelfth grade students in their English classes starting on 9/17-24. The night will consist of a PowerPpoint presentation on the nuts and bolts of applying to college, meeting application deadlines , sending test scores and much more. Counselors will field questions throughout the presentation. All materials and handouts will be posted on the Guidance web page next week.
