If your child is between 3-5 years of age and you have concerns about your child's development in any area, you can contact us. We will then do an initial screening and, based on the results of that screening, a follow-up evaluation. Because we are a public school system, these services are free to all Belmont residents. The Preschool Team of professionals includes the following:
- Special Education Teachers
- Physical Therapist
- Occupational Therapist
- Speech/Language Pathologists
- Early Childhood Director
- School Psychologist, as needed
Classroom Program Information:
The Belmont Preschool offers several classroom options. Each class enrolls up to 15 children. Of these 15 children, up to seven will have identified special needs and up to eight will be typically developing children from the community. The preschool curriculum follows the MA State Early Childhood Program Learning Standards. Students are engaged in developmentally appropriate activities throughout the school day to promote language, social, emotional, cognitive, and motor development.
Children must be 3 years old by September 1 and not age eligible for Kindergarten.
