Summer Internship Program
Again, this summer, we are offering a two– or four-week internship pro-gram to any student who is entering eighth grade in the Fall of 2013. In-ternships are also available to high school students wishing to earn com-munity service credit. This is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity where stu-dents assist the classroom teachers in a variety of ways.
Students will have the chance to work with campers in small groups or individually. Opportunities to help will be on the playground, the gym, as well as in the classroom.
If interested, the student should submit a letter of interest to the Director detailing the qualifications he/she would bring to this job and for which sessions they are available. Interns will be notified of their acceptance into the program by May 17. Last year’s interns are welcome to apply again this year.
There will be a pizza party at the end of each session for all interns. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to perform community service, have fun, learn effective teaching skills, and make friends with young campers. There will be two internship sessions and students may choose either one or both.
STUDENT AIDE POSTIONS
High school or college students interested in working as a paid classroom aide are welcome to contact the Director for more details. Last year’s aides are welcome to apply again this year.
