Course Selection Process 2012-13

Detailed course information can be found in the program of studies which can be accessed through the BHS website at www.belmont.k12.ma.us/bhs/program

Students disagreeing with their placement in a recommended core academic class should first talk with their teacher and begin the placement review process. Placement review forms can be obtained through the guidance office or through the links on this page.

Important Dates in the Course Selection Process:

Wednesday, April 4th

  • Parents who agree with the recommendations should print the "Required" and "Elective" course forms, sign them, and return them to the guidance office by this date.
  • Parents who do not agree with a teacher's course recommendation should first contact the specific teacher and then complete a Course Placement Review Form to begin the placement review process.

Friday, April 13th

  • Course Placement Review Forms are due in the Guidance Office by 2:25. Requests to change courses after this date cannot be accepted.

Tuesday, May 1st

  • Directors will report placement review decisions to parents.

Monday, June 4th

  • Deadline for submission for Independent Study Contracts, including Half and Full-Year Physical Education Independent Studies

NOTE: There will be no add/drop period at the start of the 2012-2013 school year.
